"The first week I started the regime the change was amazing. My energy returned, my skin glowed, the aches and pains and heat (inflammation) in my joints went away (almost all), the gastric reflux stopped. People commented on the change in me. I was amazed at how different and positive I felt. So thank you so much." Susie, Plymouth

"I can't speak highly enough of that man, he changed my life". Doreen, Worcester

Hiatus Hernia

A simple problem to treat naturally, a horror story when treated conventionally!
A hiatus hernia develops when the stomach lining which is usually fairly thick (it houses acid with a pH of 1.5-2.5!), becomes thin from continuous inflammation and antacid treatments and medicinal drugs for heartburn and acid indigestion to reduce this acidity.
Once thin enough, the upper part of the stomach wall, lying tightly up against the diaphragm, becomes pinched in the small gap where the gullet or oesophagus comes through from the chest to join the stomach. The action of breathing as the diaphragm contracts and returns to normal aggravates this pinch which then becomes inflamed and swollen, resembling a small inflated balloon, giving the symptoms of pain and discomfort typical of a hiatus hernia.

In holistic medicine, the hiatus hernia may be gently manipulated out of the diaphragm and the inflammation and swelling reduced by a strict bland diet for a few days.
Subsequently, the stomach lining must be encouraged to return to its full thickness by addressing the causes of inflammation which may be divided into:

Food allergy/intolerance especially to dairy and grains (wheat in particular)

Reaction to toxins such as chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, food additives etc), and heavy metals (mercury, lead, arsenic, cadmium etc)

Medicinal drugs such as the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs, antibiotics, steroids etc

All of which interfere with enzyme systems creating an imbalance in the all-important ratio of good bacterial flora, probiotics, to the not-so-good commensal organisms in the gut.

The best natural treatment of hiatus hernia is to identify and eliminate the responsible foods, pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungus/Candida, and parasites) and the toxins, to replenish the probiotics and prebiotics - fibre, both soluble and insoluble from grains, fruits and vegetables - which feed them, and to support the immune system with the required amino acids, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids of omega 3 and 6.

An Integral Health DNA Hair Test not only can identify the epigenetic factors which possibly give rise to cause/causes of an imbalance in the body and the potential for signs and symptoms of disease; it is also able to highlight the nutrient and lifestyle recommendations specific for each unique individual, helping to ensure they are able to achieve optimum health - naturally.
