"The first week I started the regime the change was amazing. My energy returned, my skin glowed, the aches and pains and heat (inflammation) in my joints went away (almost all), the gastric reflux stopped. People commented on the change in me. I was amazed at how different and positive I felt. So thank you so much." Susie, Plymouth

"I can't speak highly enough of that man, he changed my life". Doreen, Worcester

Peptic Ulcers

An ulcer simply signifies a break or breach in the continuity of the surface lining of the mucous membrane. An ulcer may occur anywhere including the mouth, aphthous ulcer, oesophagus, oesophageal ulcer, stomach, gastric ulcer, or duodenum, duodenal ulcer, but a peptic ulcer refers mainly to gastric and duodenal ulcers.
It was always held that excess stomach acids and stress gave rise to ulcers as well as medications such as painkillers and anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs, aspirin etc.), spicy and smoked foods, alcohol and smoking. But this belief was turned on its head when scientists showed that infection by a normally "quiet" inhabitant of the gut, helicobacter pylori, could be responsible for causing ulcers (see helicobacter pylori).

Of course exposure to a pathogen such as H. pylori is hardly going to result in an ulcer, especially to a tissue lining that is fairly robust and heavily coated with mucus that withstands hydrochloric acid with a pH as low as 1.5; so there must be another component to this condition.

Like all cells of the body, gastrointestinal cells have to be renewed once their life cycle - in this case 3-5 days - is over. This turnover also serves to heal damage such as an ulcer, but requires the usual factors of amino acids, vitamins especially B6, minerals especially zinc and magnesium, essential fatty acids of omega 3 and 6, fibre, both soluble and insoluble from grains, fruits and vegetables and not forgetting the friendly bacteria or probiotics to maintain balance and restore health.

An Integral Health DNA Hair Test not only can identify the epigenetic factors which possibly give rise to cause/causes of an imbalance in the body and the potential for signs and symptoms of disease; it is also able to highlight the nutrient and lifestyle recommendations specific for each unique individual, helping to ensure they are able to achieve optimum health - naturally.
